When Joan McNamara’s children were preparing to leave for college, she found herself in need of a new challenge.  A snap decision to buy a floundering local catering operation turned out to be quite an adventure.  Learn more about her circuitous route from newbie to culinary legend below.

Join Joan McNamara of Joan’s on Third in helping un-housed Angelenos reconnect with their families this holiday season. Joan will be whipping up some of her famous mac ’n’ cheese for the first annual WhtNow Holiday Hang on December 8, a fundraiser to benefit the amazing work of West Coast Care, a street outreach dedicated to helping the homeless find their way home. 

Meet Joan McNamara, the powerhouse mastermind behind Joan’s on Third. When she was just 19, Joan went to work for pioneer celebrity chef Dione Lucas, and well, let’s just say it wasn’t exactly a cake walk. But Joan endured to become a food celebrity in her own right.
